Welcome to the Kiowa District Healthcare Medical Explorer’s page.
Medical Explorers is a program to guide high school students through an understanding of the health care industry and what it is like to work in a health care related field. Students will learn abut a variety of different medical professions which will allow them to plan for their future education.
The program has three purposes:
Learn more about health care careers
Understand the education needed for a career in health care
Tour of each department of the hospital
Our Medical Explorer program takes place during the school year and has two options. Students can choose to participate in one or both.
Option 1: Job Shadowing. Students can work with their school counselor to use class time to shadow a specific department in the hospital. Please contact your school counselor for class time release requirements.
Option 2: Monthly meeting to discuss careers. We will meet one evening each month to explore careers and the many options available to students in health care. Students can join any time during the program.
Monday's are typical meeting days.
7 p.m. – 8 p.m.
